In Years 7, 8, and 9, which comprise Key Stage 3, students delve into a diverse curriculum covering various subjects. A primary focus during this stage is the development of practical communication skills, empowering students to articulate their thoughts with clarity and confidence. Furthermore, through in-depth ethical analysis, they understand the moral, social, and cultural complexities that shape our world.
The school strongly emphasises nurturing confident, articulate, and socially responsible citizens who are willing to serve their fellow students and the wider community.
In line with the school’s commitment to holistic development, various extra-curricular activities are available to students. These activities provide opportunities to cultivate leadership skills, foster an awareness of tradition, emphasise the importance of global citizenship, and instil a strong sense of community. The goal is for students to leave The Cambridge School with a vision for the future, equipped to become productive and valuable members of society.
TCS offers a rigorous Cambridge International Examination Board curriculum, recognised worldwide for its high academic standards and university access. Through continuous monitoring and assessment using Classroom Monitor, we ensure the educational progress of our students. Parental consultations, both formal and informal, foster ongoing communication and engagement.
At the culmination of Year 11, typically at around 16 years of age, students undertake the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Education) examinations. These exams, comprising 8-9 subjects chosen by students in consultation with parents and teachers during Year 9, include compulsory subjects such as ICT, English, Mathematics, Arabic (for Arabic children), and Islamic Studies (for Muslim children).
Since 2005, our students have consistently excelled in IGCSE, AS, and A-level examinations. Our remarkable results, with over 86% of students achieving grades A* to C, have earned us 60 “Outstanding Learner” Awards in the past five years. Many of our students have gained admission to prestigious universities in Qatar, the UK, Egypt, and beyond, pursuing diverse fields such as Engineering, Medicine, MBA, and Studies in Foreign Affairs.
We take great pride in our students’ achievements, and their success is a testament to the exceptional education provided at The Cambridge School, Doha.
